The Best Valentine’s Day Ever – Story Time!
This week’s video was going to be a story time video of two of my favorite valentine’s days. However Life kinda happened and I didn’t get a chance to film. I wrote this before valentine’s so I may have a better story, who know? Anyway, here is the best valentine’s day ever – story time!
February 14th, 2015
This was my most favorite valentine’s day. There was a crazy snow storm and we had reservations at this fancy Indian restaurant we had been wanting to try for a while. Well, Harrison barely drove over to come pick me up because the roads were so bad. Safety is more important than any hallmark holiday so we decided to stay in.
The problem was, we were both starving. You all know I get hangry AF so I needed some food in me quick. We weren’t going to order delivery because we didn’t want anyone else to drive. I live about a half mile from this plaza that has a few fast food and takeout options. So we drove over there and we couldn’t decide what we wanted. So we got it all.
Yes, we got chinese food, Panera soup and sandwich, a bottle of wine, and some McD’s french fries. It was simple and super casual but it was delicious and fun and we just hung out after and watched stupid TV and YouTube videos. I love that we have that type of relationship where we can just be stupid goofballs and have the best time ever.

Nothing tops the above story, but I still thought I’d share this one because, well you’ll see.
Last year I had to take a test for one of my classes on Valentine’s day so I was stressed all day. I did fine on the exam but I was just bleh the rest of the day and we didn’t really make any set plans. Harrison asked me what I wanted and I said pasta (#carbs). All of our go-to Italian spots were booked and once again, I was hangry so we had to move quickly. We both looked at each other and said “olive garden?” and we got in the car and drove over.
The hostess said “well the wait for a table is about an hour, or if you don’t mind sitting at the bar you can be seated immediately”
Harrison was like “oh are you sure you don’t mind?” and I looked at him and said “why would I mind?”
So we sat at the bar and got to order immediately. I didn’t understand why people didn’t want to sit at the bar. It was a great way to people watch which is one of our favorite past times together.
There was this couple there that was miserable. They wanted to sit at a table and had a long wait. There was space at the bar and I couldn’t imagine why they wouldn’t take it. I understand people take this seriously, but isn’t it more important to just be together than eat at a table?
So I said – we’re almost finished if you want our spot and she looked at me and said “no, we will eat at a table cause it’s valentine’s day”
GIRL SAY WHAT?! who cares what day it is? It’s just dinner, and the important part is who you’re with – right?! I was so annoyed but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter, everyone wants to do their own thing, but sheesh!
So, I hope you guys realize it’s more important to be with people you love than a fancy date night and dinner.
What’s your favorite valentine’s day story?!
