Can Yoga Grips Help My Crafting?
Have you ever had your hand cramp up from crocheting or knitting? Do your wrists hurt right after you pick up your project? I realize this sounds like an infomercial, but recently this was me and I have found something that really helps me out so I can do my marathon crafting.
I received these clever yoga hand grips in my Yoga By Candace Mantra Box and I originally used them for my yoga. Did you know that if you are working on your strength poses and you’re almost there, you can work on strengthening your wrists to help you out! Coincidentally I realized that my knitting and crochet was getting easier as well, so I thought to myself there must be something to it.
How To Use The Grips
I am sure you can probably figure it out without instructions, but you just take one of the grips and squeeze. I repeat 10 times and switch hands. I also vary the strength of my grips, this keeps your body guessing and is a form of muscle confusion. If you only feel comfortable with the lightest grip, use that and build your strength. Never take on too much,
I have been using these hand grips for over a month and I really see an improvement in my yoga and my crafting. I can hold poses that are on my hands more and more. My crow pose is not perfect, but I can practice it longer than I could before because I don’t have wrist pain.
I used to work on crochet and if I wasn’t using a Furls hook, I would not last that long. I have not had that problem for the past few times i’ve crocheted and I looove that. My knitting was never really an issue because I use connected needles for my big projects, maybe I hold my needles differently, who knows?! But I definitely feel stronger and happy that I don’t have to sacrifice my wrists to create!
