A few weeks ago I was struggling with some crafters block. I couldn’t focus and I had very little inspiration. I decided to create a creativity project that would tap into your creativity and hopefully inspire you to make something amazing. This will be a 5-day Instagram challenge and I will be checking in to see what you guys are working on! Below is a suggestion on how to tap into your creative side.
Day 1: Finger Crochet
Finger crochet is something I learned literally on the spot. When I was teaching at Michael’s I got the classes mixed up and thought I was teaching an arm-knitting class instead of finger crochet. I had never tried finger crochet so I was pretty nervous. I got to class early but read the teaching guide and I got the hang of it quickly! Really, it’s just crocheting with your finger! Who would have thought, huh?
Day 2: Bake Something!
So as many of you know if you have been following me on Instagram that I have been taking a cake decorating class! I took the class originally because it was something fun I was going to do with my best friend but boy! It’s not easy!!
So, Day 2 will be to bake something. Anything. I will probably bake a traditional cookie with a healthy twist because I really don’t need/want any bad ingredients. Stay tuned for the recipe on that!
Day 3: Wednesday What I’m Working On
Wednesday we will focus on something we’re already working on! Pick up something you left a while ago. Or weave in those ends on that project you finished. Make sure to tag me
Day 4: Swatch a New Skill
As a crafter and a teacher myself it’s important to work on your skills. So for today I would suggest swatching a new skill. Practice makes progress so this is your chance to learn a new skill, practice and then hopefully use it soon!
Day 5: Start A New Pattern
It’s Fri-yay and there is nothing better than starting a new pattern that you can work on during the weekend. Who doesn’t want to do that? I’ll show you some suggestions of patterns and you can find your own as well.
Are You In?
I can’t wait to get creative with you all! Make sure you keep up on Instagram and Twitter. That’s where I’ll be showcasing the most. Also, there will be posts up on the blog that coincide with this project – Can’t wait!
