A couple months back I wrote some knitting tips, and I realized I never made a crochet version, so here you go!
I mentioned this in my Knitting tips post, and it’s just as important in crocheting. You need to be able to see your work, so dark colors, as appealing and flattering they might seem, are not your friend for beginners.
Medium Weight Yarn
It is important that your hands learn a muscle memory, using a medium weight yarn is a good way to help you do this. Yarn that is too thin can be hard on your hands, cause you to cramp if you’re not used to it and might make you not want to crochet anymore, while really thick yarn might make it difficult to see what a stitch looks likes. Because of this I think it’s important to stick to a medium worsted weight yarn.
Find How To Hold Your Hook
You might stumble upon different ways to hold your hook, and some people might even tell you “this is the right way” here’s the truth – there is no right way to do it. The only thing you should care about is if you can do your stitches and if you’re comfortable. That’s all that matters. #doyouboo.
Now you tell me, what are you struggling with when crocheting? Comment below and I promise I will help!
