You know the aisle in Target where there’s things for $1 and $3? I LOVE that aisle.
Recently, I re-did my desk and I found a bunch of cool things in this aisle and the dollar store that add to my decor!
I think adding lights to your room, above your desk, framing something with lights really brightens a place. I mean obviously, they’re lights! You’ll see the lights in action in my videos, what do you think?! (update, I had the lights framing my canvas photos and as I was writing this post both canvases dramatically fell…sigh looks like I need to hammer these canvases down!”
Cans, Bottles, and More
I used these jars to place my supplies on my desk. I like that they have lids because honestly, sometimes I don’t want to see the possible mess that lies within, #amiright?
They also serve a nice purpose in holding my pens, markers and scissors. Things I reach for quite often so now they have a place! If the silver can doesn’t match your decor and space feel free to paint or spray paint the cans to whatever color you like !
So these frames I bought at Michael’s in the $1 aisle a long time ago for a party.
Actually, let me talk about the frames and the party real quick. This past December was my father’s 60th birthday. Because he is the best dad ever I planned a surprise party at an amazing restaurant with all our family and close friends. My mom told me I had to get place cards so people knew where they would be sitting. We had about 30 people and I had to get 2 packs of place cards, and I was just so annoyed by that. Nobody even likes the place cards! They fold it or throw it out right away.
As I was walking around the store I saw these small frames in various colors and styles and each $1! I quickly went through the guest list and realized I was friends with everyone on Facebook and could easily print their pictures, so that’s what I did! Their place card was a picture of them. Everyone LOVED IT! It was cute, cheap and so easy to do!
Anyway, these small frames are great because they don’t add clutter, don’t take up much space and you can always have something you love to look at.
So, that’s my dollar store craft ideas. Let me know if you guys like this post, I would be happy to create this into a little series! Leave a comment below with a dollar store craft you’ve done recently!
