I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted, but honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve done anything worth posting!! Alright, alright, alright, enough excuses.
So I’ve been making a bunch of gifts for friends and family for the holidays and I realized I don’t even have anything for myself, now I know this is the time of giving, but sometimes it’s okay for you to take some time and make something for yourself! Trust me on this one.
It’s been pretty cold these past couple of days and I love winter hats so I found this hat that had shells, and a flower, and I was obsessed! So, I recreated it. Kind of.
OH! I should mention this part. I made a challenge with myself that I would start using up my yarn and stop buying more yarn, because my collection has slowly become an addiction. With that said I had a little less than a skein of this beautiful teal Red Heart Soft yarn (ART E728) and thought it would be the perfect amount for this hat.
I would have had enough (probably the perfect amount) for a standard beanie or beret, but since this had a pretty intricate pattern I ran out of yarn…so I had to buy some more. I mean, you don’t want me to give up, do you? Alas, I had too much yarn left after I actually finished the hat, soooooo I made a scarf!
I had to look up one skein crochet patterns, but I didn’t really like a lot of them. So I made a standard granny stitch scarf with a shell edge so it could match the hat a little.
Here’s some pictures! Let me know what you think!
