So I haven’t posted anything in a while, sorry about that! I thought I would have so much time to do whatever I wanted since I’m on spring break, but I have found a way to keep myself busy- Crochet!
I know, what a shocker.
But it’s not just me crocheting, I’ve involved my whole family with this project. You see, I wanted to make my niece and nephew something special and since they’re young I thought that something stuffed would be cute! I thought maybe I should make two teddy bears because they’re twins…But that’s not original, so I found this awesome pattern for a Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse stuffed toy. How perfect!
Well, the crocheting part wasn’t difficult (my fingers may say otherwise however) but the stuffing and assembly of Mickey was rather difficult! Thankfully, my family is full of crafters and engineers to help me get the job done!
Well, that leads me to the purpose of this post, make your crafting a family thing! It’s easy, and fun! If you have people that love to make things, then make something together, of if you all have different skills, then just share each others company while working.
This past summer and winter break my friends and I had “wine and craft nights” where we watched a movie, or listened to music, made what we wanted to, and most importantly, had a glass of wine. This is the perfect thing to do with girlfriends and family, and it’s inexpensive!
If you have small children, teaching them how to do something will be great for both of you! But, if you think that teaching your own child is torture for both of you, than I suggest just having craft time, where they can paint, color, eat paste, and you can watch them while making something yourself (maybe you can sneak some wine in…). Just remember, patience is a virtue!
Combining what you love with the ones you love may lead to your best work!
