My Grandma – The Original Crafter
This post is dedicated to my grandma – the original crafter. It’s been one week since she’s passed away and it still isn’t easy for me to believe! Her and I had a special bond, and when I began crafting this bond became stronger than ever. So I thought I would share this post in honor of her, and for me to look back on as well.
My Baba Raya was an incredible maker. Mostly because she had to be. Living during WWII, she kind of had to make things to survive. But she was also really, really good at everything. She could sew, knit, crochet, macrame, and I don’t even think that’s everything !
She taught me how to knit and I remember the yarn I used, it was pale yellow and it had so many skipped stitches and holes that I don’t even know what I was doing haha.
When I eventually began knitting and crocheting more – like for my blog – she was so excited for me, and she was fascinated by the fact that people from all over would see my creations.
This post is to tribute my Baba and to thank her for everything I learned from her, and will continue to learn new things even though she is gone now. This blog, these patterns, all these skills are really because of her and that’s why I felt like I needed to make this post.
