Hello Knitters!
I was so excited to see that there was an article about a pretty kick ass knitter in the NYTimes ! If you haven’t read it check it out here:
I love hearing about this in the news, and Greg Bennett sounds Iike someone really cool! After I read this article I checked out some of his work and wow! His work is beautiful, I think I need to head down to Greenwich Village to check out his store, and try and sign up for a class. How sick would that be?!
The main reason I liked this article is that it’s not only spotlighting knitting, but also a MALE knitter. I follow a bunch of male knitters and crocheters on twitter, and they are all amazing ! I love looking through their posts to see what they created. I feel like crafting is becoming more mainstream, and hopefully it will become popular for males as well. I am currently teaching my boyfriend how to crochet, it’s going slowly…but hey, he’s trying. I really hope this article entices more men to pick up a Hook or some needles.
Side note: I like that he prices his pieces by how many shows he watches, maybe I should think about doing that…
Let’s Talk: Are you, or do you, have a any male knitting friends? If you don’t, start a discussion to see what’s holding them back !
