I never really decorated my house when I was younger for any holidays, we had a house that was at the end of the street and and nobody would really see it, and we also never really got any trick or treaters. I live on a cul-de-sac and while nobody can see my house from the road and there are only 6 houses on my street, we have a good amount of kids on the street where I think we can get some trick or treaters!
So, I have to decorate! Here are some things I’m working on that are super last minute but I think are cute and fun, easy and cheap!
Okay, this is not a DIY project at all, but I remember when I used to go trick or treating I would only go to houses that were well lit, decorated, or had the bowl of candy outside where I proved my gluttony. Anyway, we have a sensor activated light which only lights up when people come to the house, it’s actually really wonky and I don’t know how to work it, but I want people to be able to come to the door so I think I’m going to put my Owl from Bath and Body works in the window with a candle that way people know we are ready for them!
As a crafter I always have some construction paper laying around so I decided to just cut out some bats, ghosts, and pumpkins. Cut some holes in the top, tie some yarn and hang them from a hanger or a rod. I actually think I am just gonna hang these from my door frame, maybe in front of my storm door!
Crochet Spider Web
This was super easy to make! I will put it on the corners of house, well if I can reach it without breaking my neck. If you’re having a party or decorating your house this is the perfect project! Let me know if you’d like just a pattern or a video tutorial, or both! (It took me 10 minutes in total to make!)
This is the best craft I think, because it is perfect for Halloween as well as saving it for Thanksgiving and make a kick-butt center piece! You should do this outside if you can because we all know glitter will get everywhere and you’ll find it in your house years later. To preserve your project put some mod podge on it or even furniture polish !
Note: the paint I used wasn’t actually paint, it was glitter glue, which I didn’t realize until I opened it, but like a good crafter I worked with what I had and I love how it looks, especially the polka dots!
