Organizing A New Year
I have been really diligent with my organization the past couple of months and how I juggle a full time job, working out, and working on 1001knits. I thought I would tell you how I begin organizing a new year and hopefully it can help you in your own life !
I have a calendar that I write in. I personally like the layout where each day has its own box, and it’s set up by week and then it also has a note section. Usually on Saturday or Sunday I take the time to plan out my week. In each day I put what post is going live on what day, anything I need to get done for work, and after work plans. Here’s an example of my day on
Monday, January 8th
- Using my yarn Post
- Gym @ 530
- Prepare for work meeting
I like to also add check lists for each day in the morning and at night, I can check off what I have done.
I. LOVE. NOTEBOOKS. I have notebooks for ideas, I have a journal and I have a notebook for patterns. I don’t know what to tell you, there is just something about writing ideas down, making lists, whatever it is that just makes me so happy !
So I use notebooks for everything and it really helps me stay organized.
I know people are digital now and there is an incredible convenience of having everything in one place. Below are a few of the apps that I use or have used in the past.
Google Docs/Calendar – I love this app because it connects to my phone, computer and e-mail. So I have the same information wherever I go.
EverNote – I have this app on my computer and on my phone. I know that it’s a fan favorite and it really does have some awesome features that I enjoy. I don’t use it much anymore but when I was in college it was my go to.
