Even though I am a young, twenty-something millennial I find it hard to keep up with all the social media that keeps popping up. I figured I would create a post about this new platform that I think will be great for makers – Periscope.
Maybe you’ve already used it, maybe you have it downloaded, maybe you don’t know what an app is. Basically Periscope is like a SnapChat meets live stream hybrid. You can create video content from your phone or tablet and it lasts for 24 hours, like Snapchat. Once it’s gone, it’s gone – I think.
The app is global and in real time, so people who are in the app can check in and even type to chat with you while you’re videoing. Your video is accessible to re – watch for up to 24 hours.
So now that we have gotten a rundown on how it works, let’s see how Maker’s can use it to benefit them.
How Can I use Periscope
Plenty of ways I can think of and maybe even more!
- Behind The Scenes – Everyone loves behind the scenes things, and how it’s made and other things like that. I think this is great because your audience can see the hard work that goes into your products and creations. Not only that, but people from all over can see it!
- How – To Videos – These are great too, people will feel like it’s exclusive and everyone loves that. It will only be available for 24 hours, so if you think people liked it a lot and rewatched it make a YouTube video or a post on it! Yay!
- Q&A – I love to get to know people. So if I am ever on the app and someone is having a chit chat or a question and answer video you better believe I am all over it. Also another way to get people to know who you are, what you do and get people you don’t know from places you only dream of going to find your brand.
SO there you go! I am trying to make it a goal of hopping onto Periscope at least once a month! What are your usernames, let me know so I can follow you!
