Style Your Knits: Girls Night Out
So this past Friday night I went out with my two girlfriends. My town has a small center with a bunch of bars and nice restaurants so I was excited to get out and celebrate my best friend Emilie’s birthday! I thought it’d be a perfect post to write how to style your knits: girls night out edition.
Like I said, it’s a fairly nice part of town and people go out and get dressed up. So I wanted to wear something cool. I absolutely love getting ready, the hair the make-up, in that sense I am totally a girly girl, but I actually hate going out haha. I am one of those people that puts on a full face of makeup, curls my hair, and then curl up on the couch with sweatpants on watching a movie with my boyfriend. To me, that’s a great night! I mean, at least I look good, right?
But since we were celebrating my dear friend, I had to go out. I always do my makeup first, since that’s fun for me, and then make my outfit based on that. I made a halo effect with a pigment that had some green, blues and brown sparkle in it. I really like it! I had this new off the shoulder crop top from Topshop that I spent way too much money on but it’s on sale now in a different color! I paired it with some black ripped jeans and some booties. I loved the way this all looked together. One problem was that I was super duper cold. It was supposed to get down to 35 degrees so no way was I just walking out like that.
I found a scarf I had made when I was working on my We Are Knitters collab and I thought the color picked up perfectly with my makeup and it worked well with my shirt since they were both a little pastel-y. I loved the way it looked! I also paired it with my leather jacket, here’s a similar one, because I love the rocker chic vibes it was giving off.
The scarf is the Barima scarf from WAK and mine is in the color aquamarine – looooove!
It also got quite the attention at the bar. Not kidding, three people came up to me and were like “cool outfit!” or “nice scarf!” one guy even said “cool scarf, you made it?” I said “duhhh!” and walked away haha. Man, I have so many random bar stories – maybe i’ll make a knit chat video of some of them!
How do you style your knits? I think I will post more of these ! What do you think?
