I’ve written about Etsy before and I don’t want anyone to think that I am against Etsy in any way, because I will still be buying almost everything from there! Trust me!
I decided to shutdown my Etsy, and here’s why!
I don’t make that much money off of it. Mostly because I don’t spend the time or money to advertise on it, but still, I get an order when I least expect it. And I love it! I really do! I take pride in making my projects and sending them to people and then getting responses from them. But I’m not one of those people that brings in 6 figures from Etsy, and that’s fine I don’t have time for that anyway, so to me, I’m not losing a whole lot of money by closing my account.
Something dawned on me recently, and this was actually what helped me pull the trigger to cancel my account – here it is. I am a DIY lifestyle blogger, right? I write about how to make things, how to get inspiration to get things, I even write about making things your own based off of fashionable items. I should not be selling my items for sale, I should be helping people learn how to make their own projects!
So that’s where I’m at right now. I want to help you guys make your own projects, and maybe even start your own Etsy! Remember, I didn’t quit because I don’t like the company, at one time I even applied to work for them! What do you think, are you on Etsy or a similar site and what do you think? Tell me in the comments below!
