All I Want For My Birthday
All that I want for my birthday this year is simple: Happiness.
I hope to find happiness in every single day.
All I need to remember is that there are good days and bad days, but there is always good in the bad days. It’s my job to find it and to not let a few bad things get to me.
So, if you are reading this and you’re my family or my friends, all you need to know is that I do not need gifts or a card. I just want happiness.

Here’s my favorite story from one of my birthday’s
My Favorite Story
September 19th, 2011. My 20th birthday. Super exciting, it was my first birthday living away from home at college and I was ready to get the day going. Up until this point my birthday was my favorite day. It still is, just for different reasons.
Anyway, my friends had taken me out to lunch. My sister was pregnant and on bed rest in the hospital. She had called me and wished me a happy birthday, and she told me she is ready to get these babies out of her.
I hang up the phone, changed into a dress and then got a call from my brother in law.
He said “happy birthday, your sister is going to have the babies today”
He hangs up. My parents come to get me at school and we drive back to my house. My dad told me to spend the night at home with Stella and then I can catch a bus to the hospital in New York City the next day.
So I did that. And then my cousin told me she was there, and my aunt and uncle and my whole family, except for me, on my own birthday. Or should I say OUR birthday.
I said to myself “well this isn’t fair.” Packed a bag, got Stella’s bed ready and was on my way to the hospital a mere 180 miles away at 9:45 at night.
I called my cousin and said “don’t tell my dad, he’ll kill me” and she obliged.
As I was just pulling up to the hospital I decided to call my dad and he said they were about to leave. I said “don’t i just pulled up and you need to watch stella in the car”
My parents see me, get into the car and I can see they are mad so I said “Hey! i have 15 mins of my birthday left, don’t yell at me!”
I went to the NICU where the babies were and saw my niece and my nephew on OUR birthday. I
Ever since then I have cared less about my birthday and more about being happy and just kind. I want my niece and nephew, as well as everyone, to live in a world that is kind and makes them happy. So that is exactly what I want this year.
Happ Birthday Hazel and Logan – you are my favorite little munchkins and Aunty Fila is so proud of you every single day!
