How To Stay Motivated
Sometimes I have moments of GO – GO – GO, and then other times I’m just like. blah. and have zero motivation to craft, work, workout, anything, Recently I learned that I could keep my motivation high and prolong my work and see those pesky no motivation days less and less – here’s how to stay motivated.
Create Real To Do Lists
I’ve talked about working with lists and to-do lists. But I realized that recently I was putting on everything I wanted to achieve on my lists and not things I had to get done. That is why I have to work on my real to do lists. I put things that I have to work on and need to get done. Then I cross them off one by one. I get more done and I feel more productive this way.
Talk About What You’re Goals, and Often
There are somethings I am planning that I do not talk about on the blog, some ideas that are not yet developed. But I talk about them to my boyfriend, my friends, my sister and my parents and myself. I drive about 20-30 mins for work, and I have some of the best conversations with myself then. I like to talk about my goals because it makes them real, and I can hold myself accountable. The more you talk about it, even if things are moving slowly, the more motivated you will be.
Plan Your Days
I have to plan my days accordingly because I work a full time job, go to graduate school and work on my blog. It’s tough! I know that I work best during the day, which is why most of the work on my blog happens on the weekends. But my projects and patterns are usually after work during the week. I like to go to work, come home sit with some yarn and just create. This is how I plan my days, but if you work best at night, then you should work at night. Find your best plan and stick to it.
Plan Your Rest Days
When you workout, your body needs rest days to recover from all the work you put in and not to over exert yourself. I use this for work as well, that’s how I stay motivated to keep creating and working. I have been stressed to the max and took on too much and it was awful. I can’t afford days like that any more. So I plan my rest days and my off nights. I will usually make it a beauty day. Make a hair mast, take a long hot shower, and do a scary sheet mask or green mask, and then either watch some trashy TV or read a good book. That’s it.
How do you keep yourself motivated?!
