Last Minute Crochet Costume – FBI Agent
Are you pressed for a last minute, DIY costume? I was. Which is when I created this cop outfit or FBI agent? I made the badge for a work group costume, and everyone loved my creativity. So while it’s super simple, It’s fun and a conversation starter!
The FBI Badge Pattern
Using pretty much any yarn you have, I used a gray medium weight yarn and an H hook,
Row 1: In first chain, HDC, chain 1 turn (1)
Row 2: 2 HDC in stitch, chain 1 turn (2)
Row 3: 2 HDC in each stitch, chain 1 turn (4)
Row 4: 2 HDC in first stitch, HDC in next two stitches, 2 HDC in last stitch, chain 1 turn (6)
Row 5: 2 HDC in first stitch, HDC in next 4 stitches, 2 HDC in last stitch, chain 1 turn (8)
Row 6: 2 HDC in first stitch, HDC in next 6 stiches, 2 HDC in last stitch, chain 1, turn (10)
Row 7: 2 HDC in first stitch, HDC in next 8 stitches, 2 HDC in last stitch, chain 1 turn, (12)
Row 8: slip stitch in first 3 stitches, SC in next stitch, HDC in next stitch, DC in next two stitches, HDC in next stitch, SC in next stitch, slip stitch in last 3 stitches
Fasten off and weave in ends!
for this, I used the same yarn and hook. I also used a pipe cleaner for the shape and hold of cuff. Make 2
Row 1: attach the yarn to the the pipe cleaner, then SC around, join.
Round 2: Chain 1, HDC around in each stitch.
Once you get to the top of the cuff, sc in first 18 stitches, chain 1 turn
**(this will depend on how big or small you made your pipe cleaner molder, just eyeball it!)
Row 2: HDC2Tog in first stitch, HDC in each stitch until the last two stitches, HDC2TOG
Repeat row 2 until their are 4 stitches left, fasten off.
For the chain, you just chain! I chained 26 and sewed the ends to the cuffs.
