Lifestyle Update – Diet, Workouts and Attitude
Fri-Yay! I decided to start a little Lifestyle update on my blog. I know it’s a new year and a lot of people have their workout goals and diets and so do I! I thought I would share and keep myself honest and hopefully inspire you guys
I don’t eat meat but I do eat fish. I am not one of those vegetarians that makes you feel bad about eating a burger, or shoves documentaries down your throat to make you feel bad about what you. I don’t care. I choose not to eat meat and you might choose to eat all the meat. That’s great!
So, since I don’t eat meat I have to find protein in a lot of different places. I recently started working out with a trainer and logging my food and my trainer noticed that I don’t eat any protein. He said “you eat well, but you don’t have enough protein”
He introduced me to Macros and told me to work on my protein and reaching my goal. Holy crap guys! I did not think it would be so hard to just eat! gah! I started eating more white fish – scallops, mahi mahi, shrimp – and drinking plant protein with milk, or homemade cashew milk. I feel so full sometimes but the next day I feel energized and lean. I plan on making some content of what I eat in a day to help you guys, so stay tuned!
I got a trainer at my local gym back in October. I go twice a week and I absolutely love it! My trainer is great, he really pushes me but he’s not mean or a jerk. We also share similar goals. My goal isn’t to look a certain way or be a certain size. My goal is to feel healthy and strong. To me, that’s the most important reason to workout.
My trainer also teaches me a lot about nutrition and working out and targeting different areas. I totally nerd out on this information so it’s great! I look like a fool when I workout but, maybe I can record some of my workouts in the future.
My attitude is pretty relaxed when it comes to my workouts and diet. With that being said, I want to treat my body well. So I try not to eat badly and eat fresh and whole foods. I food prep quite often and I also read my labels and ingredients at the store intensely. But, I also don’t feel bad when I stuff my face with a donut if I want it.
I take my workouts really seriously. I pay money for these training sessions and I spend my time to be there. So why wouldn’t I show up and do my best?! I also make sure I am doing my workouts correctly because I am such a klutz, I don’t need an injury to hold me back. However, if I am not feeling 100% or even 80% (usually due to not drinking enough water) I will call and reschedule.
What are you doing to feel your best this year?
