The Party Planning Chronicles – pt. 1
I am planning a party for my parents in December and they don’t know about it. It’s okay, they don’t read my blog posts – just my instagram and YouTube really. So, I thought this would be a good place to write about all the things leading up to the event and then afterwords I can show them The party planning chronicles. here’s pt. 1!
Choosing The Space
So my sister and I decided to plan this surprise party for them and we had to find the perfect place. It had to be local, and that meant I had to pick it because I am the one in CT. I knew I wanted good food, a private room and a fabulous experience.
This lead me to two places. One is called Carbone’s and the food is impeccable. Ive been there many times and I have never, ever been disappointed. If you’re ever in the area it’s a great spot and there are 2 location’s and they are in the midst of opening up a third spot.
The second option, which is what we ended up booking is called the Artisan. It is located in West Hartford and is part of the Delamar Hotel and the reason we booked it is because the food is fresh, local and unique. But most importantly it was convenient for our out of town guests that would be staying in the hotel anyway.
I created the invites using Canva – which is an app I enjoy using for photos, collages, patterns, e-books and other business uses. I la-la-la-love the way they looked and I think our friends and family will love it as well.
Obviously the cake is the most important part – so I found this local cake shop on Instagram and reached out and ordered a cake. Go follow her she is amazing – A little Imagination Cakes
We have some more things to do like book a photographer, plan the video (which I am making and editing myself and I can’t wait to show you !) as well as plan welcome gifts and party favors. I will also be sharing sneak peaks for you and Ideas that I am having for in case you are also planning a party or wedding so keep on reading !
