Hello from week 5 or 6 of quarantine for me, hopefully you’re doing better than me with keeping up with time, ha. It has been a while since my last post because honestly, this was the last thing on my mind. I felt that if I were just continuing to post like regular, it wouldn’t be genuine to the times. But now that I have adjusted, I would like to get back to my blog, my Instagram, and my teaching. So, today I thought I would write about what i’ve been doing in quarantine, what’s helped, what hasn’t, and just my overall quarantine diaries.
Working From Home
I am fortunate enough to work for a company that has provided the ability to work from home which has been great but also came with a various challenges. First the connection issues, then those got sorted out and now I feel like I am working way more than I ever was because I don’t really have a “log off” time.
My boyfriend is also home working and going to school online at night. We get along well and focus really well during the day. The only challenge is when I finish work for the day, he often has to start classes. Whereas before he would go to physical class and I could do whatever I wanted around the house, now I find myself trying to keep the dogs quiet and leave him alone. But we’ve figured that out as well for the most part.
Overall, working from my new home office is going well. I am glad that I have the ability to do so, and I find I am way more productive with the available flexibility that I have.
Not to make it sound perfect I’ll share some fails or funny stories so far.
- I spent all of yesterday POSITIVE that it was Tuesday. It was in fact Wednesday
- I missed a meeting with my team because I was outside with my dogs – that was a fun thing to explain
- I did not mute my microphone while my dogs were barking and ended up disturbing my other coworkers dogs and it was just a bark party.
Honestly, I am surprised at how well this has gone. I’ve had many off days, but not too bad overall. I’ve always been able to keep myself busy, in fact, I hate having nothing to do. So I have cleaned and reorganized almost everything in our house, and now we’re working on some projects around the house. Then I think I want to start decorating and designing some parts of our house like the second bedroom/office.
I also have been exercising and working out to stay sane. When the weather is nice out I enjoy going on walks and runs which gives me something to look forward to as well. In addition to that I’ve been doing a lot of YouTube dancing videos, Yoga, and also attending some zoom workout classes! I also have made competitions on my apple watch with a few friends, which really helps me out because I love winning. 🙂
I have always been a person who strives to be productive and make use of my days. I hate the feeling of being bored or having nothing to do and that’s why I created this blog. I already love creating and knitting and crochet, so turning it into a blog makes sense and fills my days with things to work on and do, while also enjoying what I’m doing. I highly suggest that if you have something you love doing, or something you’ve been wanting to try, do it. Now is the time to take advantage and fill your days with what you love or something new to learn.
Obviously, there have been times where I have been extremely unproductive as well this quarantine. To that I say, oh well. 🙂
How are YOU? let me know in the comments below, I’ll also be doing a question on IG Stories so make sure you’re following on Instagram to see what everyone in our community is doing
