Shell Of A Clutch Crochet Pattern
Trying to get back into the swing of blogging and patterns, so I am hitting it off with this Shell of a clutch crochet pattern. It’s a really nice project that can be customized in a lot of different ways ! Here ya go and if you’re not into crocheting, you can buy your own custom one from me from my store here! As always, thank you for all your support!
Crochet Hook- I used a size N
T-Shirt Yarn, one or two colors. I used the fabric yarn from We Are Knitters
Scissors to cut ends off.
If you are using two colors, choose the color for your base and start with that. The base of this project is the bottom portion of the clutch. The accent is what I use for the flap. You can also make a striped pattern, or more colors.
CH 16 – The more or less you chain the wider or thinner the clutch will be, respectively.
Round 1- SC in each stitch and all the way around. This creates an oblong round and the shape of your clutch
Round 2 – HDC in each stitch around.
Round 3 – HDC in the back loops of each stitch around. This helps make the clutch lift vertically.
Rounds 4-12 – HDC in each stitch around.
Row 13 – HDC in one half of the stitches. This is the beginning of the flap. If you are using an accent color, change colors for this row.
Row 14-16 – HDC in each stitch
Row 17 – Chain 3, skip a stitch, 5 DC in next stitch. Repeat to end.
This creates the shell pattern of the clutch and acts as the flap and cover of the clutch.
