Last week I took my first ever Orange theory class and it was something…I thought I would give you a review in case anyone was interested in a new workout.
The Class Setup
Orange Theory is a workout class where you have three different stations in an hour. Treadmill, Rower, and floor exercises.
My best friend signed up for Orange Theory, and since it’s practically across the street from my house I joined too. Not that he gave me much choice as she was in my drive way ready to go Haha.
When you get in the class they give you a heart rate monitor and a card. A rower, floor or treadmill card and thats where you start. They also teach you all about the statistics and “splats”. This is the amount of time that your heart rate is in the orange and red zone, you aim to get 12 a class. My first class I did 35.
There are 3 categories for the Treadmill portion.
The Actual Class
Our class started on the rower and I realized that the rower isn’t my best friend. Every class is different, but rotates so you get the rower, treadmill and floor exercise in during the one hour session. I like the fast pace of the class because you have less time to focus how terrible this is.
Seriously, cardio is something I struggle making time for so I think I will stick with this and do more classes. I literally have no excuse because Orange Theory is basically walk-able from our house.
I would definitely bring water with you. Also I am working on a power walker speed. I’m gonna kick it up to jogger in the next coming weeks. That’s the great thing is that you can always keep going and growing.
