Today’s post is a knitting pattern that anyone can do ! It’s the perfect pattern for this time of year when some days are cold, then randomly it’s snowing haha…or is that just a Connecticut problem?! Anyway, I actually really like how this pattern came out…but the yarn choice was a fail which I will talk about tomorrow on the blog. However, lets get into this triangle shawl knit pattern.
I wanted this pattern to have two different textures. So I used this Baa Ram Ewe Aran yarn and then I also used a linen yarn from that terrible box company…and that was a disaster. I suggest using shibui knits yarn called REED which is 100% linen and it’s beautiful and perfect.
I also used connected knitting needles in the size 4.oo mm
With the thicker yarn, Cast on 5 stitches
Row 1: Knit 2, Yarn over, place stitch marker, knit, places stitch marker, yarn over, knit 2.
Row 2. Purl 2, knit each stitch, moving stitch markers as you get to the last two stitches, purl 2.
Row 3: Knit to first stitch marker, Yarn over, slip marker, knit, slip marker, Yarn over, knit to the end.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you’re almost out of the thicker yarn.
Once that happens, you should double up with the linen yarn and knit with both yarns until the Baa Ram Ewe yarn ends. Then you continue with the linen yarn to the end.
Once you get your desired length…continue to knit but instead of doing the Yarn overs, just knit straight across.
If you’re feeling up for it you can add some embellishments by doing Yarn Over, K2Tog, then knit a few rows, and then repeat it before casting off.
How do you like this shawl? I am going to remake one with a better quality linen yarn…stay tuned for that yarn review because it was really….ugh. Terrible. Anyways ! I hope you’ll share this post and pattern on Instagram and Twitter
