Wear Your Heart On Your Hat Knitting Pattern
This week’s pattern is going to be a knit hat pattern and with February starting this week, I thought that I would incorporate some love into my pattern. Not only is Valentine’s day around the corner, but I feel like the world just needs a little love in it. That is also why I named this the wear your heart on your hat knitting pattern…a little cheesy, but who cares, right?
- Size 10 Connected Knitting Needles
- Loops and Thread Impeccable Yarn in Maroon (A) and Grey (B).
- Pom Pom Maker
- Blunt point needle.
With darker color A Cast On 50 stitches (60 if you like it to be a little wider) and Join in the round.
Round 1: Knit 1, Purl 1 around
Repeat the rib stitch until piece measures 1 inch, or as thick as you would like the band to be.
With Color B Knit around for 4 rounds.
Knit 24 stitches around with color B, Knit 1 with color A, knit 24.
Below is the heart pattern you can follow. Use color A for the heart and color B for the remaining part of the hat.
Once you have made the heart, continue to knit in the round with color B until piece measures 8 inches. Switch to color A and knit until hat measures desired length. The longer you make it the slouchier beanie you have.
Sew the top of the hat to close it off and weave in any ends. Make a pompom to top it all off and that’s it!
The Final Product
I love how this hat turned out. The truth is I make my own patterns by trial and error. I would rather explain my patterns than write them out round by round. I think this helps people customize their own patterns to their liking. Just because I made this pattern doesn’t mean yours has to be exactly the same. Be creative!
