Work Life Balance
I wanted to write this post mostly for myself. I know, selfish…but I also know that people can relate to it and open up and start a conversation to help each other. #community ! I want to work on my own work life balance, and I thought maybe addressing it would be beneficial to you guys as well.
A little about me, and my life. I work in an office during the week. I write and manage 1001knits and all that goes into it by myself. I workout 3-5 times a week, and I have a boyfriend that deals with my crazy life haha.
I work in an office environment where every day is different. It’s not a bad thing, but it’s also not where I see myself forever. It’s a good job for now and the steady paycheck and benefits add for a great peace of mind. I get into work around 7:45 and start my day, I usually leave the office around 5 or later depending on my workload.
After work I go to the gym twice a week at least to workout with my trainer. I like to get there early so that I can run on the treadmill and do my HIIT workouts before training. After that I usually do my grocery shopping and come home to cook, eat, shower, relax and go to bed.
Then I wake up and do it all over again.
Relaxing usually means I watch T.V, chat with my boyfriend, work on some blog posts, knit or crochet.
Friday nights are fun! Usually plan to see my friends or go out on a date with my boyfriend. I really unwind from the week before and gear up for my weekend.
My weekends start like this – Wake up, lay in bed for a little and catch up on social media or whatever, go to the gym, come home and eat a big breakfast. Shower, change and get to work! I usually work at my local coffee shop, or in my home office. Then I have time for my boyfriend, friends and family.
Work Life Balance
You might not see a lot of balance in my life, and that’s because there isn’t haha. I don’t feel like thats a problem, but whenever I get stressed out, it really affects me. So much that my blog suffers, my workouts aren’t as great and I get really annoyed. Annoyed with coworkers, people and myself mostly.
I know I have to focus on my balance…So this is something that I am working on in 2018. Here’s a few things that I have implemented in my life that I think are helpful for me.
- Take time for myself every single week – shop, read, try something new
- Create for yourself – I want to make things just to make them. not for the blog, future projects, etc. just me!
- Meditation – I start every morning with meditation. A quick breathing exercise really helps my day
- Keeping my home clean – staying clean and organized is something that I really need to work on. But when things are cluttered and not in their space it makes me really anxious.
- Have more fun!
How are you changing you work life balance and what advice do you have?!
